Hi, does anyone have any experience of using this? I understand there are 2. One is cheap and the other is ridiculously expensive - is this correct? Can they be retro fitted by BMW?

I want to use the Ipod through the steering wheel and sat nav etc but i don't know if its worth the cost. How is it wired in? Can you hide everything - i.e cable, ipod etc and still operate it?

Lastly - How much?

Any pointers would help me out.

Thanks.

Hello there.

not sure about the other systems. I checked for a few and the best one i could find is the intravee system with alpine connecor for i-pods.
Its not cheap but can do the following:
completely hidden,
ipod can be in boot or behind seat,
charges i-pod,
can control i-pod through sat nav screen,
has full listing of tracks and artist,
can select tracks from playlists, artist, whole collection (takes forever )and displays current song through the sat nav screen.
best idea is to have loads of playlists ,as i do, then can select each song as you wish through the sat nav screen as you do on the i-pod screen.
takes a while to get used to but easily the best system.

hope this helps
there is an intravee website. google it for screen shots.

I have a DICE ipod unit for sale, for £60 if you are interested? Generally considered one of the better ones!
