New R500 Duratec Kit Delivery date is now Mon 8th September!

Got a call from Tim at Caterham today, saying that my Shiny new R500 Duratec kit is going to be delivered a week from today.
So I am in proper count down mode now.
Not sure if that means that I will be the first, but definitely one of the first few to get their hands on a new R500.
Look out here for notification of pictures a week from today..

Thanks for that, but no not as yet.
The powers that be have started to get worried about people like me who have built multiple Caterhams from a kit.
I wont go into the intricate details, but it entails proving that I am not a commercial for gain organization.
Long story short, I need to provide a full photo build history before we can apply for a SVA then a MAC ( ministers approval certificate ).
So I need to provide them with pictures of my car in all stages of build, from kit to complete car.
The upshot is that it might take a while to get it SVA and registered, but that's the game we play I guess.
Will keep you posted.

Yes I heard that too, so we are the real new boys then, hope we don't suffer with teething troubles as a result!!!
As far as how long it will take to build, well it took me two weekends and a few nights to build my last R400, so I am aiming to beat that, with this build.
As you know its going to be delivered on Monday, I hope to have it mostly finished and running by Thursday next week.
I will be trying to post as many pictures and videos as I can during the build.
I am sure if you are like me you are getting pretty excited nw, about delivery of your new toy!!
