I want to replace my centre console. I've got the replcaement one complete with surrounding trim so I can see all of the fixing holes. However 1 is located under the Handbrake tray. How do I get the Handbrake tray out?

you have to remove the hazard warning light there will be one under there. I think you have to remove rear ashtray and maybe the armrest if you have one to remove the handbrake centre console out. then you can get access to the 2 screws on that side.

It's easy, as said just remove the ashtrays, unscrew and the handbrake tray comes out.

What's more tricky are some of the screws on the drivers side where the centre console mounts inside - when I changed mine there was some kind of pipe in there, Im assuming that was something to do with a/c or heater. I had to prise a piece of the dash apart to get my screwdriver in there.

When I removed my console the I had similar issues, if its the verticle pipes I belive there dash board supports.
