September 2008 Photo Competition - Chit Chat

It's too wet outside to take photos
I'm hoping that this month will bring out the creative flair that I know you lot possess.
It may be something that you've done to continue taking photos outside even though the elements are against you, or perhaps you've taken a look at the weather and thought to yourself, I'm going to get creative indoors.
I'm not looking for studio shots that probably would have been taken irrespective of what the weather was doing outside, but something that says 'taking photos doesn't need sunny conditions.'
Happy shooting, and good luck!
P.S. I'm off to Italy on a road trip later this month, and don't get back until 2nd October, so is it OK with everyone if the results are a little late being judged? If that's a problem, perhaps someone can suggest a stand in for me.

Here's a couple of rainy day photos to start us off: My sister did me a Lego model of our old series Land Rover recently so here it is on our kitchen worktop seaside resort... (travel book propped open behind)
...and then on a subsequent part of it's world tour a Bonsai tree desert adventure

It's great if it is, but everyone knows people don't all have the time or the opportunity to go on monthly photography excursions so most entries (I think) are from peoples' archives. ie. see the theme then have a think to see if there's anything you've taken that fits the bill. But if you take a photo especially for the competition then I think it adds something, so do let us know....

During a day trip to Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument the heavens opened just as we had reached the top of the steep walk up to the Monument, so it meant taking pics outside was a bit of a nightmare with the wind and rain constantly leaving it's mark on the lenses, so inside we went and while climbing to the top of the tower I stopped near the top and snapped a pic of the spiral staircase, as the lighting really gave the narrow staircase some character.

Another one taken 'specially. Taken from my office window in Edinburgh on a cold wet day.
Large version is better.

I do most of my shots at night, so it's doubly miserable in the cold, wet darkness. So I figured I'd play around with some light sources at home and then investigate the on-board trickery of my D80.
This is a composite of two exposures, produced entirely in-camera. Other than that, no PP. Click for exposure details on the image's flickr page.

These were all taken a few weeks back at the classic car show at Helmingham Hall in Suffolk. It chucked it down for most of the day, but I thought it might yield some good photo opportunities.
No idea if they're good enough. Opinions welcome as to which is best to put in the main thread.
