The day is Wednesday 27th August , it’s a typical warm Italian morning and we set off at for our 2 hour drive to Sant Agata. We arrive at 2.30 and we are met by very pleasant and helpful staff at the Lamborghini factory.

As its August the factory section is closed, therefore there are no tours around the factory itself; however the museum is still open so we head inside to be greeted by a gorgeous Lamborghini Miura sitting with its amazing V12 on show. Whilst inside the museum we can only gaze in admiration at the host of other beautiful Lamborghini’s, but nothing quite prepared me for what came next. As I turn around I catch a glimpse of something quite extraordinary driving up towards the entrance and recognise it immediately to be the Reventon. The girl at the museum desk said here’s something you may find interesting and before she had even finished that sentence, I had bolted out to the front door and just stared in amazement.

What I saw sitting outside the front of reception, I could hardly believe my eyes, it was none other than a Lamborghini Reventon, Lamborghini’s limited run Hypercar. With a limited run of 20 cars ever being produced, costing €1 million before taxes. I knew it would be an extremely rare sight to ever see one in real life unless you’re one of the select few that could actually afford that huge price tag and be invited to buy one, I could hardly contain my excitement and I was literally shaking. This was the effect this car had on me.

Back to the title of my post, and I have heard various numbers of people saying that this Reventon is none other than an expensive Murcielago with a body kit? Well I can tell you now, you’re all wrong. Take a look at this pic below and try saying that again.

The styling of the Reventon is a masterpiece in my opinion and I have seen many supercars, with everything from Aston Martin’s to Ferrari Enzo’s, Koenigsegg’s and Pagani Zonda’s but even these fabulous cars could not compete with the visual impact the Reventon has. To be honest words cannot describe the feeling you get when you see one, to see a Murcielago or a Gallardo is an event, but the Reventon is just on a different level altogether.

If I have any criticisms about the Reventon at all is the sound on start up and idle. When you see it you expect it to start up, burst your eardrums and shatter every glass window at the front of the Lamborghini factory while making the ground tremble like there’s an earthquake occurring, a bit like a Ferrari F40 would. But it doesn’t it’s very quiet, I’m sure it would sound a lot better when the loud pedal is pressed to the floor on the Italian Autostrada, but I guess until I make the 1 million asking price and be invited to buy one, I shall just have to keep dreaming of that sound.

Well anyway enough of my waffling on, below are a few pictures I took which DO NOT do the car justice. Hope you all enjoy the pic’s thumbup

Thanks

Aaron

I absolutely love the Reventon. If I had the money and the opportunity I would buy one without hesitation. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Ferrari fan but in an age of overly-tall, fussily styled and increasingly ugly Ferraris it's refreshing, and something of a relief, that Lamborghini, at least, still knows how to make a car worthy of adorning a teenage boy's bedroom wall.

The reventon is stunning, although I think the muira concept is my favourite.

I love both the Murci and Gallardo, but do feel they are too understated compared to Lamborghinis of old, a little too "Audi" is you like. Lambo's should be outragous.....and the Reventon is exactly that. If the wife would let me put a car picture up on the bedroom wall...this would be it...with a bikini clad lady sprawled all over it of course!! cool

But according to everything I've read, it is an LP640 with a bodykit?

To me the California looks like a Honda S2000 bred with a Mercedes SL and the subsequent offspring gobbled three million cakes, all of which went straight to its hips. Each to their own, hey!

nay, nay, thrice nay, etc etc - that's one of the 'extra' two that myself and Cristina Guizzardi are being given as 'thank you' prezzies - so there...

These extra Reventóns will be number 21 for Santa Cristina and number 28 for me, obviously...

Its just a Murcielago with a body kit.

If it was double the price of the standard car then fair enough but £800K extra is far too much for a car with exactly the same performance as the standard model.
