Head bearings, try and get the front wheel off the ground and check for play.

If you get a ride, give it beans on 2nd gear and then off the throttle to see if it pops out of gear.

Camchain noise, rattles on start-up, but will go when warm, £50 to replace the tensioner.

What year bike are you lookin at?

It should have 17" wheel on the front as the early pre-2000 models had 16", worth checking as more tire options for the 17", but most say its handles better with it too.

That's subjective wink

I love my 16er. And you can get 16" in both Bridgestones and Avons, which are probably the more popular tyres for the bike anyway.
