Well i ordered a 13" fan and today it arrived (ordered yesterday from Merlin motorsport), its a tripac one
Long term fitting will require some extra brackets, probably best if two new bars were connected to the existing cross bars. But it time honnered TVR fashion i've used cable ties, jubilee clips, tape chewing gum etc
Performance well its certainly quieter and ive yet to get the temp above 90 deg even when stationary for 10 mins
Draws less power, my volt gauge does not drop below 13v (except when indicators on ) where as before it was dropping to at least 12.5v possibly 12v
I'll update tomorrow when i go out for a long run through Blackwell Tunnel but so far so good
Fan can be set up suck or blow mine is set for blow.
Went for a drive today with Markbigears into London and Blackwall Tunnell
Some observations
Very, very quiet compared to one that was on
Uses alot less power
Car never hit the red (except when water poured out of bottom hose cos some idiot didn't do up the jubilee clip properly)
It is a bigger fan than whats on but the sizes of both are 13" so a new bracket will be needed.I was thinkink of some new brackets mounted as shown in the pic and the fan mounted to this.Basically 4 lengths of plate (2 bolted together sandwiching the bars and bolt the fan to this Brackets could be made out of anything.
Any other ideas
Costs £66.95 plus 7.95 post plus vat mkes a total of £88
And so far worth it
