After three weeks in the wilderness of S2 ownership with no bible it arrived the morning! (Cheers Steve!)

So now i can embark on the (growing) list of jobs safe in the knowledge that I have the right word on matters (including the pressure cap debate )

One thing I seem unable to locate is a description of the bonnet release - the cable is still there but seems to have no mechanism attached to it on the near side.

Anyone know where the cable should go?

There should be a sort of lever thing to the left of the steering column right under the dash. The cable should be fastened to that....somehow!

Sorry mate. I've read this about 6 times and I still don't understand what you're asking. Am I being dim?

No I don't think you are, he's just trying to confuse us.

OK.

a) Steve Heath owns a 520 nutter Wedge.... right?

b) Every time someone buys a "bible" we contribute towards his pockets... right? (this is NOT an objection, just an observation given the thing is worth it's weight in gold!).

c) SO... given that he must have sold a fair few "bibles"... what proportion of the Wedge do people who bought the bible "own"...?

d) Forget it.

Oh, I geddit! Phew, that was hard work!

It's a pity that they axed 321 - you could've got a job writing the clues for them!

Podie - if they made just 2500 of these cars - he can't have sold that many books- we aint talking Harry Potter numbers here....

Anyway - does that lever carry both cables or what?

I would imagine so - one cable per catch!

I will try to get a photo of the said lever and how it all fastenes together and post it tonight.

Right then, this is the first time I`ve done this so....

Edit - hmm, try again.....

Yay, worked... the cable should actually be all one length. It looks like the cable goes from the catch at one side to the catch at the other via this eccentrically mounted lever so when you pull the lever one way it tightens and then slackens in the opposite direction.

If your cable is in two bits then it must have snapped at some point, or your mechanism is different to mine.

Roy.
