Track Day Spin - Engine Management Light?

Hi all,
I've just got back from a very wet Snetterton. I have a question regarding the EP3 Civic Type-R.
Due to the, er, adverse conditions my brother performed a neat 270-degree pirouette (thankfully keeping it on the black stuff). He stalled - bad form - but otherwise didn't do any damage to the car. Since the spin, the engine management light has been illuminated. The car drives fine, will go into VTEC and behave perfectly normally. We think that the ECU has just got it's knickers in a twist and needs some sort of reset.
Has anyone experienced this (or similar) before?

have you reset the ecu? Disconect the battery for a while and when you reconnect the ecu should reset. also see http://www.civictype-r.co.uk/forum/ for more in depth info

I have done the same thing on two occasions. Nothing to worry about.
The stalling seemed to be automatic too...as I was definitely on the clutch!
If you disconnect the battery, make sure you know your radio security code, cos you'll have to re-set it when you re-connect the battery.

I dont know much about these engines but on my H22 you can read the code by shorting a connector under the dash.
Its probably just a driving condition code (possibly VSS related due to the spin) but it might be worth checking the code before you clear it, as it might show up a possible fault (or future fault)

My brother just got in the car to drive back to his place. Starts the car up, engine management light stays on. Mucks about with his tom-tom for a minute, light goes off!
He's still going to take it into his Honda dealer for a quick look at it, but all seems well again. Fingers crossed.
