MAYBE! Er Obviously. Much better for racing too. More torque / more power amd MUCH lighter and shorter.

I don't have any comment to make re Wilder. If you want info I suggest contacting Phil or Wilder directly http://www.wilder-eng.com/

As for the AJP8, I must say I'm really looking forward to it. A much better spread of power, 25% more torque and lighter too which will hopefully cure the understeer we have. A big bonus is the whole thing will be taken in-house with Joo doing his stuff on the motor for me.

Very diplomatic Ceejay but it has to be said that even us non-racers have heard of the awful problems youv'e had with the Wilders reliability this year. SOrry to see it mate and good luck with the new engine. V8 - GR8!

I'm surprised people haven't talked about the AJP V8 transplant more often. I posted a thread up a while back asking if anyone had put an AJP V8 into a T car or if indeed it was possible and got no response. Speaking to Paul at Austec (who has already done it once before apparently) it is possible as you and Joo will be proving. If I ever need a SP6 rebuild I already have an AJP V8 conversion on my shortlist of options. I predict you'll be very competitive next year with the AJP V8 - will you be staying in class B or moving up to class A ?

Hmm - I did not know - just asking....

So they just do not last then - especially under race conditions.

The torque from a bigger base engine will help. Torque wins races. My road car with a few tweeks could Win Class B (not exactly many to beat)!!!

I've no doubt we'll be much faster with an AJP8. At Snetterton this year we were 17mph slower at the end of the straight than the cerberas. If the rules make it viable I'm hoping to run in GT Cup next year against the porsche and ferraris, with possibly a couple of appearances in class A of the TVR series.

Wouldn't it be better to just leave the AJP8 in the Cerb and race in that. Mike seems to be doing really well.

My shopping car. Ideal for Class B "Just popping to the shops luv, via Mallory".

Slap in a cage, Toyo's, strip the interior, and double the spring rate (a few days max);)

Mild remap for 99 octane or even 102!!

I think you'd need more than that to keep up with that Cerb. He's running 285 tyres all around and a very effective aero kit. It appears to go around corners like its on rails. There is a Tuscan being run in Class A with a big Chevy engine in it running big power but having seen it race a couple of times, it's great on the straights, but the heavy lump up front and lack of aero means that it really stuggles in the bends. It got left behind by quite a few cars at Anglesey, though dominated at Snett thanks to the big long straights.

In short, I think bhp isn't enough any more, you need aero and lots of rubber to stay ahead!
