Its a 434 (7.1L) Dart Little M block
Brodix 330 CNC Heads
Iron Eagle Crank
Drysump
Kinsler 2.5" Stack Injection
Roller cams (with oilers)
Big, expensive, shiny pistons and conrods (read - can't remember what they are!)
Running with a mild cam first to see how it fares on the emmissions tests. Will have to run with cats. Using a Motec M8 ECU, so hoping it will be able to get through emmissions OK.

Should be good for 600-640 UK bhp with hopefully 600lb.ft. torque. Should be on the dyno in 2-3 weeks so will let you know how it goes.

Just love the Kinsler system. It really is a work of art....

You have to make sure you are there for the dyno run.
One of the best experiences ever particularly in my case having built the engine myself.

you do not want to be there for the dyno run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hearing your 10 k motor fire up and scream in front of you brings tears to your eyes... i used to hate my race engines on the dyno, experiance yes but worry yes as well. i suppose at least if it does go pop you wont have to pay for it?

Martin: I would assume that when you say a Motec 8 system that you are refering to a Motec 800 or 880 the differnce is in data logging. If that assumption is correct, do you intend to run the embeded traction control and fire the injectors seqentaliy? I have a ls1 with Kinsler and a Motec 800 We are just now wiring the system in with the change to the Motec 800 from an Motec ls, system Dry sump and Kinsler.
K/N Filters make a sprint car filter that will fit on your set up with very little problem it is a single filter carbon fiber floor and top it filters through all four sides and the top of the filter flows 2700 cubic feet per minute. the engine looks great. Lee

When Pete dynoed my motor, I was there and saw 648.9 bhp and 611 ftlb of torque, now THAT'S what I am talking about yes
The dropped valve scenario is a bit of a strange one in as much as it is not a common fault on a motor stuffed with all the best bits but hey, st happens right?, and although it has been a large pain in the but, it is not the problems that you have but how they are handled and put right that counts and I could ask for no more from Knight Racing Services which only serves to reinforce my faith and bolster their reputation in my opinion, thumbup to one and all at KRS.

Hi Lee,

I am using a Motec M8, which is an earlier version of the M800. I will be running sequential injection as this is a standard feature on these ECU's. My unit also has the advanced tuning and traction control enabled as well as data logging. I have already run the wiring for the traction control, but I am going to leave the sensors and setting up till after the SVA.

I managed to pick up a new K&N Panel filter off e-bay (for £40!!) from the States. I looked into the Sprint filter you mention, but it won't fit under the GTR clam... Going to build an aluminium box around the air intake, housing the filter in the top of the clam. Plan then is to make a tapered box around the trumpets and seal the gap with a rubber gasket. It's going to be a lot of work, but I want the air intake to be fed from cold outside air rather than from the engine bay. Also it will be nice to see the trumpets when you open the clam!

Looking forward to the Dyno runs as I need to get some sample data downloads from the ECU. They are for Race Technology (the company I bought my digi dash from) to setup a converter for the RS232 data link. I would highly recommend them if you are after a great road legal dash display system.

Cheers,
Mart

Cheers Dave,

I am just hoping that the drive train will survive OK!! Running a standard G50/03. Just want to get it running before I invest any serious money in an uprated gearbox (I am assuming I will probably need one).

How has your new gearbox / driveshafts performed? Have you had much chance to use them yet during the rainy season?

Tough assumption to make.

I thought that most G50s used the same main shafts, or at the very least the same main shaft bearing spacing and gear materials. The only difference being the larger differential in some of the boxes.

Given that the smaller dif does seam to cope well for most people, I also wonder where the limit of this part is. Careful setting of the pinion depth and backlash would be one aspect to consider for its longevity.
