I use pilot power 2CT's. I can see the argument for Pilot Road 2's, and very nearly went for them myself. But, I'm getting nye on 6000 miles from a pilot power 2CT (well over 1k motorway miles a week atm going on my R1), which is acceptable, and at the weekend I've still got a super sticky tyre on there for abusing on curly roads. Suits me biggrin

Are you happy with the Bridgestones ? If so put them back on, why would you want to change? you know how those tyres work. When i need to change mine thats what i will be doing.

Because whilst you might be happy with one tyre, it doesn't mean there aren't better tyres out there that you might not be more happy with.
I was happy with dunlop and bridgestones until I tried diablo corsa 3's, and again was happy with them until I tried 2CT's, which are yet to be bettered imo. Of course it depends on the bike and how it's ridden, personal preference and a lot more, but why stick to one tyre when you could be missing so much?

i'd used bridgestones alot in the past too...then the 2ct's came out and got very good write-ups so i gave them a try and very happy with them on my fireblade cool

my bridgestones are going to become pilot road 2s next month. from everything ive heard it'll be a new machine in the wet which is what i want on an everyday bike. never got on with bridgestones in the damp myself, seems as soon as they get damp it turns all feedback off & im riding on twitchy blocks of wood - not nice.

Yep i agree with both of you. Just seems a bit of a gamble,it could go the other way and you would not get on with them. With the cost of tyres, i would not be prepared to gamble on a different tyre, when i am happy with the ones i am already using.

I used Bridgestones, Pirelli Diablo Corsas and then I found the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's in April 2006. I have since used 5 sets of the Pilot Power 2CT's and two sets of the Road Pilot 2CT's (Pilot Road 2CT's currently on my R1) I would not now use anything else.......these tyres are fantastic.

i did'nt see it as a gamble as i had read all the reviews in the magazines and asked end-users opinions on alot of differant bike forums..all the signs were good so i went for them

i will be "sticking" ( pardon the pun wink )with them for the next set at least

Just out of curiosity how do you rate the Road 2CT's against the power 2CT's? Obviously the latter are stickier and the former more durable, just curious as to how much difference there actually is.

i'd say NONE unless you are using them at a trackday and even then the road 2's will be good for a few laps before overheating and getting squirmy

but that's just my take on it

I have used Bridestones 010's, Avon MT22/MT23, Diablo Standard, Diablo Corsa III and the Pilot POwer 2CT on various machines. On the Aprilia Factory I have run the Diablo Standard, Diablo Corsa III and the Pilot Power 2CT and have found the 2CT to be the bext of the lot!! I currently wouldn't use anything else but like some of you here I am always looking for something new to try biggrin. I've had 4 sets of 2CT on the Factory getting about 3,500 miles out of a rear and 5,000 miles out of a front. Generally I swap the front and back at the same time though except for my last set where I just swapped the rear and about to do the front.

As Y2Blade said, there is not a lot between them in the real world i.e. on road, if anything I feel the Road Pilots are slightly better in the wet than the Pilot Powers, but that is obviously my opinion......one thing for certain is you can get more mileage from the Road Pilots....and that's why I use them...
