Release agent and chicken strips
Discussion
The recent threads have me thinking about my new tyres on my Hornet. I've been told to take it easy on them for the first 50-100 dry miles, as to wear them in and get rid of the slippery release agent on the rubber.
Presumably, I will only get rid of the release agent as far as I am leaning over at the moment - i.e. the first time I ever lean it right over (enough to get rid of the strips) then I will be encountering a slippery section of tyre with release agent still in the rubber?
Is this right or does the release agent dissolve/soak into the rubber of the tyre eventually?
Just curious, not that worried about my chicken/sensible strips, but would like to know what to expect as I get more confident on the tyres...
Cheers,

The taking it easy isnt so much about getting rid of the release agent (though thats important) as curing the tyre via heatcycles. This forces a bunch of the RA out, and sets the rubber properly, so if you hit the edges at 200 miles, you'll have a lot less gunk on them than you had in the middle when you started.
