In the newspaper today (Buxton Advertiser 11/9/2008) DSCP have acquired another unmarked camera van that can and will be seen on the roads of North Derbyshire. Don’t say you have not been warned that’s now 2 unmarked vans, 2 tripod operated mobile gatsos, 3 marked vans and 117 static’s cameras covering Derbyshire’s roads.

Could someone PLEASE ban this user. He is clearly here just to wind people up. This is a motoring forum where people like to drive. This user appears to be a member of brake or somesuch. Proper police users on here have fairly balanced views and arguments, this user is very one sided and focused on anti speeding.

The idiots who set the daft 50 limits on the higher quality roads, leaving the crappier 'B' and 'C' roads at NSL deserve a mention! Suppose they've gotta offset the cost of all those 50 repeater signs somehow.

It would appear to me that anyone who wants to say "Let me do 120mph on the M1" = Good Guy. Anyone who says "Speed limits are there to be obeyed" is labelled as a troll.

Surely that wouldn't be the case with the well balanced and intelligent membership that frequents these fora?

If you live in Derbyshire it must be galling to open the local paper each week and find at least another three bikers have killed themselves having fun on Derbyshire roads. You’d want something done about it wouldn’t you? How many kill themselves during the IOM TT these days?
Out of 5 or 600 bikers killed each year nearly 200 of them are in Derbyshire.

I haven’t heard in recent times of the helicopter being used to prosecute speeding drivers, I think its too busy looking for escaped convicts from Sudbury or following the car thieves from Derby, Manchester, Nottingham and Sheffield. What you guys should be aware of is Cheshires fixed wing traffic plane, this quite often can be seen over the 53, 54, 537 and 57 all of which attract the bikers on a weekend.

I've always driven with the view that some little oik will be hiding behind a bush, on a motorway bridge parapet etc, trying to catch me out. Has served me well enough, though must admit to some luck as well over the years. It's a case of identifying likely hiding places rather than just looking for a marked van or yellow box.
