M Plate Disco v8 Alternator Question...

Picked up the above last night and the battery light was coming on intermittently. I'm assuming it's an alternator issue but given it was intermittent would you suspect imminent failure of the alternator is there a known issue with the loom running to it? Suspicious because the light went out after the car was driven over a bumpy railway crossing.

Could be a lose connection - I had to re-wire most of the wires on my alternator.
