Rover V8 Gearbox Question

Hello all

I'm going to be putting an R380 gearbox, out of an LDV Pilot van, into my V8 P6.

I've got two questions in respect of this. Will an SD1 LT77 bellhousing fit to the R380 'box? If so, will the gearbox mounted to the engine be the same length as an equivalent LT77 setup?

I mounted the R380 to an SD1 bellhousing in my Dax. Everything fitted fine, and I was told at the time that the LT77 and R380 shared the same casting, and it certainly appears that way visually. You might want to watch out for the gear lever remote on top of the box as these seem to come in different lengths, mine was approx 30mm shorter than the std SD1. Also watch out for the spigot diameter on the input shaft in relation to the bush in the crank.
