That was probably the hardest of the three wins that the mighty Liverpool have got this season over you lot.

You are getting better.

Not sure Moyes got this right as the game moved on, he should have changed things but didn't. Rather than go on and win the game he was happy to try and stop us from winning - imo.

You must have the best squad of the last few seasons at present, right?
Of course it was the hardest... You were neither playing 10 men, or a weakened side. wink

Still, I thing Moyes got it wrong tactically. We were 'OK' in the first half, but the second needed a change after the 60th minute. Just bringing on Coleman was a 'nothing' substitution. Anti hie, (our top goals order) should have been on FAR sooner then he did. I can't help but feel that Moyes messed it up. Rather than using the threat of Jelavic, we sat back, and offered very little going forward, which is all very well if you are going to counter quickly, and aggressively, but we did not.

I was miffed not to see Drenthe, as I think he would have given us a spark, (like the cup tied Peanuts would have), but alas, he was a naughty boy seemingly.

Well done to Liverpool, they got the goals, (in fact all 3 goals were scrappy, error strewn affairs), and they get to go to Wembley again. We get to go home. Still, we have the league to concentrate on, in our push to surpass Man Utd... oh wait.

I think we have the team to beat anyone, I just think that Moyes is far too defensive minded to allow us to attack freely. I'm not saying get rid, as it wasn't long ago we were cheering not being relegated with Walter 'can't be arsed' Smith, and have been to Wembley, Europe, etc, and had a decent run of top 8 finishes, as well as pondering who would replace him? I just think he needs to quit worrying about conceding, and get up there and attack. We showed we can against Sunderland, and a few other times this year when we have played great football.

Red sox had the first home game of the season. They'll be at the final I am sure, they made it to the last one to see us win a trophy. The money might drive the clubs towards the top four fight but being in any final and winning is still what football is about, isn't it?

(Not one bitter joke)

No I don't think it is, the premiership is all about top 4. Domestically it used to be about being champions, then the FA Cup, then the league cup, now all that matters amongst the elite clubs is a top 4 finish, anything less is failure because of the financial impact and the ability to attract the top players. I would love Everton to win the cup, but it's not what the game is about anymore.

Shame that they had to fly back so quickly and miss one of the biggest games of the season and the Hillsborough tributes, still it was the Red Sox opener as you say and it's not as though they play many games in a season is it?

It is a discussion I have spotted a few times on LFC boards - The Cup double or fourth place and CL. I see the merit for the club taking fourth but for the fans now as much.

Not sure how Baseball works regarding games etc, it's not a sport I follow. As always the service was well marked by all (By both red and blue)

Moyes just needs to go for it in cup games - don't let the team hold back but stay tight. (imo)

Good half there boys, think you may have benefited from a few decisions due to recent media and certain conspiracy theories but game on for the second half!

Fantastic performance there. Really did think you'd rolled over at 3-1 but that was outstanding.

Well, you were almost in trouble when they scored, but you escaped, and we were treated with a stocking game!

Don't talk daft. He was rubbish, and has been since he came back. However, we will do Spurs a favour, and take him off their hands for what they paid us for him, we are nice and fair like that.

Priorities for the summer?

Get Baines to extend his contract, 3 years left.

Not sure how much is left for Jags, Jonny and Felli. I hope we have a buy clause for Peanuts.
