My 2 rear tyres have worn out totally on the inner edge at 8,000 miles to the extent the tyre was in 2 pieces!!! I only notice when the tyre pressure light came on and checked assuming it was just a puncture.

My car is an 08reg 325 coupe with 19'. Has any 1 else experienced this problem and to this extent ?

Sounds like you need to get your car in for a 4 wheel alignment pronto.

I've read about it in a few places, including on PHeads before. Seems the hard side walls of RFTs cause a higher than normal amount of friction with the road surface at the edges of the tyres because there isn't enough 'give' in them to absorb transient high pressures such as those caused be cornering or uneven surfaces. This is magnified by any slight anomaly in any element the car's set-up, such as slightly incorrect tyre pressure, thus causing rapid wear.

RFT are ridiculously sensitive to tyre pressures. Running then at even a few percent either side of the norm can have this sort of impact on wear rates.
