Abba turn table mat

Anybody got one of these things and are they any good?

If anyone has got one... is the bike stable enough on it to consider leaving it on it all night in a strong wind?

I have no experience of this particular unit but I do have a friend who has made his own from a couple of substantial bits of ply-wood with a decent application of grease in between. It works very well (used daily and needs re-greasing about once every 6 months) and cost virtually nothing.

It did occur to me to make something like that our of two beer trays and some grease but something tells me the wife would baulk at a constant sheen of grease on rainwater on the drive and being walked in the house by the kids and cat I asked about them here..

...Well, it was more to do with spinning the bike on the stand.I did have a go at it a couple of times by the way, just to try it and it was quite easy to do.I don't really need to spin the bike any longer anyway, so I didn't get a centre stand or turntable in the end.

They are ok if you have a space in your garage the same diameter as the bike (if you see what I mean). With that one, you can't stick it up against a wall to get it out the way. With this one

you can. It is what I have and can store the bike lengthways along the back wall of a single garage. very useful when you are tight on space. Not the best made thing in the world but it does the job competently enough and saves doing a 47 billion point turn

That does look good. However, I only need to spin the bike 180 in its own space on the driveway where it will live so the turntable looks like less of a palava. I don't need to get the bike in a garage, just turn it round so it's ready to leave again.http://www.abbastands.co.uk/product_details.asp?id...

Thanks though,

I do that with the blade but the triumph is a bit bigger and while I wouldn't mind doing it occasionally I think spinning it on a daily basis would wear a substantial hole in the drive http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
