Have finally given in!!!

Ok OK i know i am not your typical TIV owner as i am doing something quite alien to most on this board.

I am making my t350t less noisy, i have given in, and am having fitted on wed a standard exhaust, i will be keeping the TVR Power Sports exhaust for another day, but if i am going to live with this car everyday i need something that dosnt make my ears bleed after 20mins.

Will let you know how i get on with the new super stealth TIV next week

Hi Stephen,

My Tam has a standard exhaust and it still pops and bangs, its never going to sound quiet but it will take the edge off if you spend lots of time in the car.

I wonder if a "flap" could be fitted like they have on porkers so you could have noise on tap.

Nothing wrong with a standard exhaust - they are still much louder than any other car.

I too reverted to std exhaust, but + de-cats.

Neighbours still reckon they hear me coming several mins away, even at pootling speed

I'm actually with you on the quiet thing. The only place you can really unleash a TVR's potential is on the track and with a typical limit of 100db a performance exhaust will generally fail the noise test. Even with a standard exhaust my T350 comes in at around 98db and it's failed the drive by limits at Goodwood and Bedford during trackdays. That's so annoying when you've paid your £170 or so and you get black flagged.
I'd be interested to know if other standard exhaust equipped T350/ Tamora come out at that value or is mine on it's way out.
Also can anyone recommend a silencor add on? The inserts i used on the Chimp don't fit on my T350.

Most recent model standard TVRs are around 98db, my Chimaera was too. I suspect the Sagaris might be a little higher, especially if being measured for drive-by as the pipes point up the trousers of the tester

I have tinnitus from driving my T350C for a year with a Racing Green exhaust that I inherited with the car.

I got my decatted T350 down well below 100db using Supertrapps with minimal power loss (from D.Tweeks) but you need to get a short inner pipe welded to them that you can then secure with 1 bolt to the existing tailpipes (can be small 6mm hole underneath, hardly visible).

I found anything else too long, either inside or out.

You are not alone.I have had the sports exhaust on mine for over a year now and they have begun to wear on long journeys. I would love to have an Aston Martinish setup that keeps it civilised untill I want to to let rip,that would be ideal.
