now I dont really know much about Kawasaki, mainly know honda.

anyway what im wondering is what are the zzr600's like. im not talking about newish ones, used around the 1000 pound mark or less for a winter hack or if its any good full time use/commuting.

mainly used for just normal driving i.e not pushing too much 'trying' to stick to speed limits tongue out

not cornering too hard and just general dawlerling around, but also its good to know if they can fly and corner well if you feel the need to push it.

Im talking about the ones from 1993 - 1999 models.

A mate replaced his GPZ500 with one (he also has an NC30, SV650S & a Pan) & said it was very quick in a straight line but not a b-road bike as the handling wasn't the best. Personally, I think they look wicked, go a treat and they're ideal if you're quite short biggrin

not good on the twistys :[

do you know any other bike of the same sort of power than handles better on the b roads?

might just get an rvf 400 and boost the power with bigger carbs an so on.

ZZR600s are supposed to be good comfy bikes but, from what I've heard/read, are particularly rust prone on exhausts etc.

IMO you should look for a Yamaha Thundercat. They go for similar money for a mid nineties bike.

those thundercats look alright actually.

they any good though?

as i can get insurance on a fireblade for around 500 quid. might get one of those,

i know people will say that i will kill my self. but in all honesty, the throttle is in my hand and i should only use as much as i feel comftable, untill i have gained extra skill

quite like the look of the Tundercat, if the insurance isn't too much of a problem take a look at the Thunderace too.

Thundercats are good bikes. Good for over 150mph, good brakes and a 600cc motor which actually has a midrange. They are less popular than CBR600s (unjustly so IMO) so go for much less second hand.

For £1000, it's gonna be a few years old. Therefore the rear shock will probably need replacing/refurbing and the front fork oil will need changing (never gets done at a dealer service even though they say they've done it). The handlind should be fine if the suspension is back to how it should be.

I agree with the other comments on the Thundercat - I had one for a couple of years in the late 90's - fast, good brakes and handling, comfortable for long distances and very under-rated.
