Having spanked some cash on the new 800GS, courtesy of the good lads at Caterham BMW recently, I'm going back to pick up the next accessory tomorrow - the enevitable top box.

Thing is, they want to charge me £75 to fit the bloody thing. Surely they can't be that hard to fit, can they?? I'm showing my ignorance here but is it fairly straightforward? Anyone who's had any horrific experiences, please air them now...!

Fitting a top box is (in my experience of doing the grand total of one) just a case of removing the appropriate bits of bodywork, attaching the mounting arms, putting the bodywork back on, fit the plate and do any electrics if there are any at the appropriate points. If you can do all that without breaking and scratching anything and you can be bothered...

Easy money - save your cash and spend it on petrol - that means you can ride it hard biggrin

Sound advice, as ever.

Anyone riding through Brixton tomorrow will be almost certain to find me cursing and swearing with fifty different parts in my hand then!
