Have searched for the above topic on this forum already and have seen comments along the lines of "difficult to do" and "had to take it back to the dealer to get it sorted", but does not seem like anybody had elaborated on what the actual problems where.

I have some stitching coming loose on the steering wheel and would like to have a go and putting this right myself. To do this in comfort I want to remove the steering wheel (whilst doing this I thought it would be an idea to make a written note of any electrical connections that will need re-connecting) do the fix and the replace it.

Has anyone here had a go themselves and care to help out with some advice, which would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Removing the wheel is pretty easy, 2 ways it can be done,

First is to carefully prise off the TVR badge in the centre, its just glued on, which will reveal a large nut, undo and wind the nut off until its still on by a few threads, then pull the wheel until its loose. Try to pull near the centre, as its not very strong and is easy to bend. Remove nut and wheel comes off, its a good idea to leave the nut on a few threads otherwise a trip to caualtly with a busted nose is quite likely!!!!

Second way is to undo the allen screws around the badge, probably easier, however when refitting make sure that the wires aren't trapped.

You may want to mark the wires, they're on 4 small plugs in the centre, however don't worry if you don't. just a case of trial and error to make sure when refitting.

Hope this helps.
