Howdy,

I'm looking for an ex race or track bike of small capacity (125/250cc) and wondered where the best place to look was aside from the usual suspects (Ebay, etc).

As it's coming towards the end of the season I am hoping to take advantage of some worn out machinery for a University project...

Cheers

you could look on specific forums, like TZR, RGV, etc

Quite a few series are supported by dealers who sponsor. For example, Bill Smith in Chester has their old race bikes for sale.

Maybe see if any local teams have dealer backing and go from there?

Unlikely to be in the same price bracket as the OP is thinking. after all it's for a uni project

Yeah, sorry was speed reading. That will teach me smile

Might be worth seeing if any of their really old bikes are lying in a back garage.

I've got an old TZR250 racebike that I used to race in the BMCRC TZR series. Would make an excellent project..

Hmm, that could be a possibility - Have you got any pics or info on the spec?

What kind of price would you be looking for as well? - If you want to discuss off the forum mail me at jejmccombe@hotmail.com as i don't have access to the PM mail address I used for the Pistonheads account anymore.

I don't really need a full functioning bike- something with nice componenetry and a knackered engine would be perfect as this bike won't be running a normal IC engine... wink I wouldn't feel good about taking a mint race bike and stripping it for parts.
