Hi all,

I'm looking for a company that can help me to some tuning upgrades. Needless to say i am NOT looking for bodykits, lexus lights or any of that stuff. I'm looking for high quality performance upgrades such as camberplates, strutbars, tires, battery cables, steeringwheels etc. What is considered to be the best in the business in terms of price/quality when it comes to this kind of upgrades for a BMW ( E34 )

Regards,

Hugo

if you want proper competition parts specifically for a BMW then you need to get access to the BMW motorsport parts catalogue. AFAIK this resides with Park Lane BMW and they may be able to help you find some parts. they aren't cheap though.

Otherwise I'd of though demon thieves would be your best bet.

BMW motorsports part as in BMW Performance Parts ? That is all marketing junk for you average juppy. Besides, my 18 year old E34 track racer is too old for that stuff. Nah, i'm looking for something in the likes of www.biesheuvel.nl (dutch site ).

Also, I need to get my LSD refurbished. Who know's a capable mecanic who will be able to do that for a fair price?

Not necessarily a performance upgrade but longer and thicker cables would give me the chance to move the battery to the boot, this way less weight ( 30-40 Pounds, E34 battery is big! ) in front of the wheels = less understeer. And we all know that understeer is the sound of disappointment.

"0" Gauge high quality cable would be available, cut to length from most top-end car audio specialists. Common colours include red, blue and silver.
However, weight between the front and rear wheels is the best place for it, behind the rear wheels promotes oversteer.
I am not aware of any camberplates for the E34 being available but maybe the E31 plates would fit?
Phoenixmotorsport.co.uk carry all the polyurethane bushes for that car, (and E31 camberplates), I have them on my E39 and they made a noticeable difference.
I used Eibach roll bars on my old E35 535i and they were great in combination with the Spax adjustable sports kit.
Its unlikely BMW with still have anything available for a car discontinued 13 years ago though.

These audio cables are often expensive, Powerful jumpercables are often cheaper. Thanks for the link. i'll give them a shout.

How do you like the Eibach kit under the E34? I've got M5 stabi's and am rather pleased with em.

no i do not mean BMW performance, i mean proper race parts, like engines, bumpers, linkages, struts , dampers, stuff that was designed by the factory and fitted to its race cars in the 70's andf 80's, i can assure you there will be some stuff for the e34. but you must have deep pockets.its kind of bavarias equivalent to peugeot sport parts - see peugeot sport boutique to get the drift

for example you can buy a fully race prep e34 m5 engine for ......... £19000 or so.

probably a 2 year wait though.

The cable would be more expensive than jump cable but far more flexible and easier to route and clip. A couple of metres of each would be sufficient I would think so hardly mortgage money. £20?

I loved the Eibach kit on the E34 and now have M5 bars on my E39 but without a side-by-side comparison on the same car, could not comment on which is best.
