My MiL and hand brake light dont light you as per my other thread. My plan was to take the dash cover off and see if the bulbs are fault, but they are LED's on a printed board. The other LED's the indicator work fine, but have found a couple or resistors the wont show any reistance on my meter, could the board be faulty ?

Sorry mate, I thought they were just ordinary bulbs, I've never actually changed one myself. As to your resisitors, again no idea, maybe worth an electronics person having a look......As far as I'm concerned PCB's etc is black magic...

Love to offer advice, but can't..

good luck fella.

The mil light only illuminates when the immobiliser is disabled. With the immobiliser enabled you will only see the handbrake light as well as the oil and ignition on the speedo.
I suspect you know that but I thought it worth pointing out, especially as you found that there was no power to the handbrake switch.
The resistor is probably there to drop the 12v to 4 or so for the LED.

You won't get an accurate reading (of Resistance) across the resistor with it still in the ciruit - You really need to de-solder one of the ends. But don't attempt it if you're not used to doing such things. You can easily wreck the board.

An easier way to tell if it's working is to measure the voltage across either side of it.
i.e. Putting the probe of your voltmeter (set to a suitable DC range) on the contacts at either side of it.

If the voltage across it is the same as the boards supply (probably 12v) then its gone open circuit.
If there is no volt-drop across it (zero Volts) then it has gone short curcuit.
Anything between the two means that it's most likely okay.

TBH a blown resistor wouldn't be my first choice.

Hope this is of help

Sounds like you need to replace or repair the pcb. We have replaced one or two now but I think if you took it to a local electrical shop they should be able to solder in new resistors etc. A replacement pcb for these functions is about £35 and can be obtained from your local TVR dealer.

HexhemHC, do you know what the part number is, I have been given MEO167 and it description is a power fuse board at £90 does not sound right.
