It's going to be interesting to see how Lewis plays it. Obviously he'll want to lead from the front and win, but if he can't, how safe will he play it? If he's ahead of Massa but Kimi is ahead of him, will he go for the extra points or just settle for beating Massa. If he's directly behind Massa, will he challenge him and risk it all or play safe?

Notice that we're talking about permutations of Lewis, Filipe and Kimi, but not mentioning Heikki. As a McLaren supporter, that's a bit worrying.

I like heikki but he needs to pull his finger out,and get behind lewis in these next 3 races and try and take points off the fezzas.

I still think he's going to go all out, he doesn't seem to have changed that much mentality-wise since last year.

Disagree with that comment,so why did'nt he go all out to overtake rosberg in singapore in the last laps?because he would have risked not getting any points at all,and he knew that,especially with fezzas no scoring ,he knew 3rd was good enough,where as the lewis of 2007 would have gone all out to overtake him.There have been other situations this year too,but can't think of them off the top of my head,but i think he has matured alot mentally, although that's just my opinion.
And yes if he can win without taking too many risks in japan i think he will go for the win,and i hope he does win.

I thought I read or heard somewhere that Lewis has said he is going to play it safe and protect the championship. Also I believe Ferrari have said their target in the last 3 races is a 1-2 finish as its the only way the can guarantee they'll beat Lewis.

Either way I'm becoming disenchanted with F1, the racing is good, but the off track politics is ruining it for me.

Different scenario completely, in Singapore he knew he was going to score more than Massa, it was only a matter of whether he would gain 6 or 8 points, If he were behind Massa, I don't think he would be so level headed, obviously we can't know for sure, we'll just have to wait for the next 3 races to find out.

I'm thinking lewis might use his free engine change this weekend,as that long straight at fuji will be punishing on the engine,at singapore it was a new engine and it was a long race,so might be worth using it.
