520d. best fuel?

I have a 2008 520d touring and was wondering whether "standard" or "super" diesel was the best fuel for the car. I was a Shell V Plus convert in my last petrol engined car but are the new "super" diesel fuels worth it in the likes of a 520d?

S4 - there was something on the news about this a few weeks ago and it found that there were no benefits (the subjective ones/placebo effect).

When I had the GT TDI 115 Golf I found there to be quite a difference in the tank range between supermarket basic brands. Actually found that oddly when I refilled in the Telford tesco I could get much further than in other stations (tesco stations) No idea why same driving style every time.

I always now though buy the cheapest fuel I can find every time.

I#d run it on the standard diesel - cheapest you can find from a reputable source.

I use the cheapest stuff and add Millers, worked a treat on our 320d (177bhp).

Oh, and Shell V-Max is also really good.

Different to every other diesel made, but does seem to give better MPG and smoother, whether any better than cheap diesel and Millers is something you will have to try though as I have gone back to petrol, much cheaper!!

I have'nt tested MPG but definately notice a performance difference when using BP ultimate in my 520D.
