Dropped the S into David Batty last week for the MOT and a new exhaust... since the old one was the original... had been patched more times that er... something that was patched a lot... and the cats were the original 12 year old items...!!! - so the old girl need to be "neutered" too..
So de-cat and S/S sports exhaust were ordered by the good Mr Batty.
So went away to Salzburg on busines.. came back and collected the S this afternoon.
OMG!!!! HOW LOUD?!?!
Sounded like a V8 at idle... blipped the throttle to be greated with the sound of hell unleashing... and a big grin over my face! Nice.
The pootle along to get some petrol was a nightmare... waiting for the engine to warm up and the oil pressure to drop... but FINALLY I was able to open her up.
5 minutes down the road... MASSIVE but also a huge
Throttle response is much improved... pops and crackles as you lift off to change gear and on coast down...
Then I got to the Dartford Tunnel. Crawled to the tunnel... floored it in second... thought the tiles were going to fall off, lifted off sharply, and got a flash (mini-flame!) out the back along with the other fireworks noises..
FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC.
Big T and Seasider... might not be able to hear you in the Mid-Essex convoy next month...

I've heard this too... mine hasn't been redone. Given that the ECU controls the fuelling anyway, it's basically a case of removing the battery connection... waiting 20 minutes, reconnecting it... and the car sorts iteself out over the next few minutes or so.
I asked the engineering boys at Ford this... and apparently unless you replace the entire ECU, you can't adjust anything in the box anyway...

It was worth every penny... and a BIG thanks to David Batty for a cracking job.
The sound alone was worth the money, but the pops, crackles and flames just make it anti-social!
Drove to work this morning and woke up the street... and probably half of the little villages I went through as well...
Throttle response is SO much better, and MUCH smoother too... just gutted I didn't do it sooner.

I’ll have to listen out for you next time you’re around the Kent area, it’s about time I did something about the poor noise the Griff makes, even the standard S was louder

Well the last time I put the track day silencers in I got 90dB so even if it goes up by 10 it’ll still get on, hopefully!!!
Was thinking of getting a different silencer then refitting mine if I was going to a particularly quiet one, not sure how I’d go about that though.
