Out of curiosity, has anyone experienced a "knocking noise" from their RRS front suspension?? My car has been in 6 times with the same fault and I am getting brick walled by LR with regards a solution. It seems quite a few cars suffer from this, but a friend of mine and members on another forum mostly do not suffer with this issue.

Would be good to hear if anyone here on PH is suffering with the same issue that my 2006 car is

If you are in the Wimbledon/ South London area, happy to have a look at the car and see what I can do for you to get it sorted.

Cheers,

Alan.

Alan,

Are you a LR dealer? I am based in Hampshire, so not a million miles away. Would be interesting to get your view on any resolution.

PS: Car is still under LR warranty.

Has it got the adaptive stability control fitted? ie has it got the hydraulic anti roll bars? these cause a small amount of knocking.

The usual things are anti roll bar bushes, they wear stupidly fast, land rover have just brought out a modification to put shims behind them to stop this. Also the front lower suspension arm ball joints wear, land rover have also brought out an improved ball joint to cure the wear issue. Your dealer should of checked these already though it may be worth mentioning.

Thanks for the info. Any ideas WHEN these so called mods were issued??

My dealer is saying that the ball joints are within tolerance and they have replaced the bushes about 6 times, last time being about 3 months ago!

Any info would be appreciated. This is one HOT topic! smile

The stabilizer bar bush knock technical bulletin came out in august 2008, bulletin number LTB00167, part number needed is LR012410, these are small rubber packers that go underneath the stabilizer bar bushes to take up the free play.

Glad to be of assistance
