Got my car back recently after having the Head Gasket done and now the engine seems to be moving about alot more than it used too. When stationary you can feel the movement through the car.

Any ideas what it could be?

The car needs to go back for a 1000 mile check up so hopefully will be sorted then but thought I'd ask here just in case.

The car is a Fabia VRS (1.9TDI 130)

Thanks.

Perhaps they did not do the engine mounts up enough .. try to rock the engine with your hands - it should not move any more than about 1/2 inch and thats being quite forceful !

Hi There

On some engines the engine mounting bracket is fixed to the head.
If the mechanic did not refit it properly or is the rubber got damaged in the process this complaint might occur.

Check your engine mounting brackets, you probably will find the cause there.

PS
I would not wait untill the 1000 mile checkup.

Thanks again, I will go and give the engine a bit of force!

I'm almost at the 1000 miles now, it doesn't take me long to get there!
