Are talking about scrapping bikes, where the rider has been caught doing very excessive speed, or has been riding dangerously.

Can they legally scrap a brand new bike, costing maybe £20,000, for a traffic offence?

they can do anything they like & invent the laws afterwards.

worked for the scum when they arrested me & i spent 7 hours in a cell for being the victim of roadrage. nutter scum car driver was trying to start a fight at the lights for nothing except me overtaking him when he was doing about 10-15mph below the limit. the kant then lies to cops about me kicking his car & obviously they believe him as all bikers are evil.

never never never never NEVER trust a cop is my motto from now on.

oh that was derbystser plod too.

For me, the first person to have their bike crushed for speeding needs to take the case right to the very top.
With the backing of every single one of us.
If it's really going to happen, it's little short of ethnic cleansing, bike-style!

They only way they could do that would be with a section 59 Order.

And they would have to issue you with at least one warning first.

Ok, I have to ask.

Does the same apply for a car? Where excessive speed and dangerous driving could have catastrophic results.

I think the question is does it apply to cars as well?

Or is this just another way of getting bikers off the road

That is my concern.
They've done their best to test and price people off bikes, after all.

In certain circumstances a car will cause more damage. Say hitting an oncoming car. Most likely 2 lots of occupants would be seriously injured/dead. Whereas the biker would be on his tod in the injured/dead stakes...

Wiping out a packed bus stop with either car or bike wouldn't be pretty.

Right that's fine but generally speaking, any crash which injures someone isn't particularly good. It's not much good riding around like an idiot 'cos it probably won't hurt anyone'. It's worth remembering that crashes are multi vechicle quite a lot of the time, so your veering off the road might cause someone else to crash as a result of being distracted.
