A friend of mine has a 1989 E34 535i Sport manual.
Apparently the engine has let go (I don't know the details but will post when I do).

Is it worth repair with second hand or re-conditioned engine?

It's a shame to see a 535 Sport manual in black and black leather go to waste.....

More info:

Oil warning light, 'pop', very hot engine, burst hose.

Diagnosis is likely cylinder head gasket failure, plus additional, as yet unidentified damage.

Does anyone know the prognosis?

Is it new engine, top end rebuild, or just replacement gasket?

The car is near Stevenage at present, I'm thinking A1 BMW ?

HELP, PLEASE!

And where would one find one of these?

Is it worth repair or sell it as parts?
