Hi guys,

I wondering if someone can explain the advantage of the rear beam powerflex bushes (and of course any drawbacks). I see there is a front and rear kit available.

I looking to make the M3 Evo a bit more hardcore as it won't be my daily driver for much longer. I am already looking at coilover kits, but that's for another day. At present I've fitted Powerflex front lower wishbone and rear trailing arm bushes. Oh and of course the anti roll bar bushes as part of the Eibach ARB kit I also fitted Rogue rear top mounts and eibach springs.

Depsite changing all of these I still have a slight knock from the rear end so I am wondering if the rear beam bushes need replaced at the same time? I even removed the rear wheel and jack to make sure it wasn't those smile

Do powerflex do Diff mounts? Perhaps I should look at replacing these? The rear end does seem VERY active at the moment even in the dry.

Look forward to your comments.

Thanks, god knows the E36 needs it smile

Are the beam bushes labour intensive to fit?

One quick word of advise with regards to making the M3 stiffer is to check the rear strut tops.

I put some H&R coilovers on my Evo which are a hell of a lot harder than standard suspension. Started to get a slight knock for the rear.

I couldn't work out what it was until it got worse and I found the strut top was badly broken around the stut mounting. Luckily I was at a friends house who owns a body shop and he'd seen another Evo on uprated suspension do this.

So you've decided to keep it afterall then wink

Rear top mounts were my first thought. Either that or the trailing arm bushes but if these were really shot you'd more than know about it.

smile Well haven seen a 8 month 135i up for sale on here for £24k not sure I can stomach loosing that sort of money. This weeks plan is to buy a diesel estate for day to day stuff and keep the M3 for fun.

The rear mounts have been changed for Rogue mounts and the trailing arm bushes were changed a few months back for Powerflex.

If you have time wouldn't mind given you a shot of it, see what you think. I'll email you smile

I changed the top mount s on one of my last e36's for the rouge engineering ones, they seemed a little to stiff if honest, and unless you keep the car for 3 + years the standard (now e46) rubbers are a much cheaper option in my opinion. I suppose if you are stiffening the car up though its a good upgrade to do at the same time.

Must admit I notice a difference fitting them, ride quality remained the same. Worth doing though.

scz4 - Are you reffering to the Rogue or E46 mounts? I'm deciding now which ones to go for, probably going to be the Rogue ones although I understand there is a delay in sending them out and I guess I'll be paying import duties from the US - the E46/Z3 kit would be less hassle to get.
