Predictions and hopes to get going then:

I think Ferrari will win the race with Massa but Lewis will still take the title, Alonso second.

I really want Lewis to win the title without winning the race to show him it is possible, also would like Kubica to do well for BMW.

I really want Lewis to win the title but I can see it going all wrong, hopefully he'll just cruise round in second or third (doubt he'll beat Massa on home turf) and avoid any collisions.

The sensible thing would be to let the Ferrari's run 1 & 2, with Lewis in third and Keiki running 4th and covering Lewis' back. However, I think that Lewis will go for pole, try to keep out front and avoid trouble as much as possible.

Best result would be Heikki 1st, Lewis 2nd, Alonso 3rd, Kubica 4th, Kimi 5th and Massa 6th. That will give Lewis the title and (if my sums are right) McLaren will get the constructors championship too!.

I think that's the safest - run a bit light to get pole, staying out in front where it's quiet and safe till an early pitstop. In his situation he can afford to compromise his position at the end of the race, just to avoid any 1st/2nd corner shenanigans.

It's a great first corner for 'daft' overtaking moves though.

But I agree he should run very light, get pole...and also a better start ~(shifting less weight off the line).

I wouldn't be surprised to see KR put a move PM to show him that he really is the quickest Ferrari driver. Hopefully, LH will keep away from any first lap tomfoolery & cruise round to finish 5th or above without getting into any unnecessary fights.

totally agree - i'm no expert - but i'd have Lewis very light to steal an unrealistic pole but with enough in the tank to still get out 3rd after the pitstops shake down.

Then i'd literally cruise (relative term) around behind the two Fiats.

Also - if poss i'd put heiki on exactly the same strategy which would allow him to get 2nd hopefully (or 1st)

then he could be a rear gunner for LH in both scenarios of LH being out front or indeed if he comes in, ends up behind two Fiats - then LH, HK could swop places to protect LH from either Alonso or Kimi in case they were to try anything dodgy..........whilst still maintaining a 5th place for title.

Nothing else matters in the world (yes including poverty, war blah blah) apart from LH being WDC on Sunday.

I don't think they'll do anything different than calculate the best strategy to try and win.

do you think they'll go for outright LH win?

i suppose its worked for the last two years.

also probably why i'm sat in an office in London and not on a pitwall in Brazil.

the harshness of reality

I can't remember who suggested it, but it was someone on here.

I want to see DC on three laps of fuel in Q3 to get pole. I think it would be hilarious seeing a driver pit from first on lap four, and it would be a great way for Coulthard to bow out.

assuming DC can get to Q3 that is... wink

i think lewis needs to try and win - if you sit back and then get caught out by a safety car or rain or whatever... need to push for the win imo. also, would be great to seal the WDC in style smile

Ha ha yeah that would be great....and for the team and him to talk about being happy with their sensible fuel load and stratergy!!

Either way come on Lewis and Mclaren!!

I am just hoping for a lot of things not to happen

No Banzai attempt by Lewis to win
No tyre selection, fitting,overdriving problems
No loss of concentration leaving the pitlane
Please,please, no safety cars.

My nails a bitten to the quick

Go on Lewis , stuff it to them!
