sorry if this has been asked already but.... i have just been given (long story) a 2.5 v6 freelander and the amber engine light is on all the time. no running issues and i've been told it's a service light, now i am fully capable of doing the service myself and to be honest i don't really want to be spending money at a dealers when i can do the job myself (plus the cars not worth alot anyway) i was just wondering if anyone knows how to reset it? i serviced a mates peugeot 307 the other week and found how to reset the light on the net but can't find anything for the freelander. any help would be great.

Are you sure it's a service light and not a 'check engine/emissions' tell-tale? I didn't think Freelanders had them, although I have no experience of the V6 cars.

freelander didn't have a service light on pre facelift models. sounds like an engine warning light to me..

i have solved it i think, it's the cat. seems to be very rattley (if this is even a word) and as the sensor is just behind it it would seem to be the problem.

thanks for your help
