Last night went out to the carpark to find that all the windows on my 118d ( new as of last month) had decided to open themselves and let the rain in to soak all the upholstery. Last went out in at about 3pm and locked it normally. Alarm had not gone off and there were no signs of any exterior damage. All the doors were locked. Was chatting about it today with one of our receptionists and she had something similar happen in her 3 series.

Anyone any ideas as to why this happened? I would do a search but its under maintenance at present. Many thanks

Are you sure the "open" button on your keyfob wasn't pressed for a longer duration?

My most popular complaint t'is that!

Usually caused by the key folding back onto the key fob, the randle then holds the open button down.

The dealer can switch off that key fob function on request.

I found the unattended auto window opening feature most handy when
I'd left the car in a dodgy area of town overnite and it
decided to rain.

Why oh why can't BMW have the default the other way around.

If I want my windows open remotely, I'll ask for at the dealers.
99.999 % of the time I'd just like my car secure, please.
