I'm thinking of getting a camera detector, which do folks recommend? Is it possible to get one that gives you your average speed between a pair of SPECS cameras? The other thing I'd like is laser detector in build in the unit, as I'll be swapping from car to car...

...oh also I'd like to buy it "on the high stree" today or tomorrow.

Any suggestions?
Regards
Iain

Pogo alert does all those things is excellent and highly recommended by our local specialist madt350. I have the nav/camera unit.

Very small very customisable. Gives average speed through specs also tells you how many etc. Tells you known mobile sites.Tells you what kind of camera both vocal and onscreen.Tells you which direction. And it tells you the speed limit.

It really is the mutts nuts in my book. Pricey ish at 250 i think it is now but comes with a 2yr warranty unlike most with only one. Software is constantly monitered and upgraded alongside updates. Great customer service and if in london you could probably pick one up from there office or it will be delivered within 24-48 hrs of ordering.

I do 50k+ miles a year and have done for a good few years and i have no points.

Don't worry about a laser detector, all it'll tell you is that you've been nicked. There's not enough time to react.
I'm pleased with a Road Angel Connected, works well.

My Bel laser (and radar) detector warned me effectively x 2. I agree it may not always be the case, but it shifts the odds a bit in the driver's favour!

First one I suspect due to slip. In that case the laser warning sounded for a second then stopped (operator with hand held laser leaning out of open car window), had to re-acquire, giving time for necessary adjustment before being 'nailed' for about 4 seconds. Hard stare from operator (empty motorway) but no NIP or stop. Had been at about 1 lepton in 0.7 lepton zone so pleased to have a jolt rather than a ban. I slowed down for a few miles before getting bored again. Man 0.7 is slow on an empty M way....

Second one: cars in front got it (sorry Mr Porche driver) I eased off as I picked up scatter.

One other time it went off and as I passed the officer I could read my speed on the LED, he ignored me. It said 56 (in a 50) phew!

I'd have been done that time if I was over the threshold. I tend be a stickler in none NSL areas to be honest, but was chatting to my son at the time and failed to slow down as I passed the 50 sign immediately. I was targetted at about 500m but only car on the road Sunday evening etc etc.
