You're doing something seriously wrong if your average 140BHP Passat TDI is keeping up with your 200BHP 320d. And besides, who cares?

You *should* be able to feel the power difference with the tuning box. I've had one on various BMW diesels and have always been well pleased with the results - the best being on 320ds.

I take it you bought it from a reputable company and not a cheapie on fleabay?

It could be worse - you could have a 320i. Trying extracting 200BHP out of it and oodles of torque for the price you gave for your 'box.

Yes, i always got good responses from similar (www.tuningbox.com) - i even had one on my 3.0d e70 x5.

The only one it hasnt so far worked out on is my current 535d. It 'overboosts' at anything over 100mph on full throttle, then goes into limp home mode, meaning i had to stop and switch the car off and on again. Even if i adjusted it down it still did it.

I really need to give them a ring and see what they say.

why not send it back and get your car mapped.

Thats fair comment - oddly, i didnt have any qualms about remapping my 2 month old 535d, yet my subsequent 3 year old 535d i'm quite jumpy about. I guess maybe i think that the new one would be sorted 'no questions asked' however the 'approved used' one might be subject to tighter constraints if there was a claim.

I suspect there is a slight 'inherent' fault with this used one - it has always 'pinked' slightly at around 75mph on cruise control - but bmw say the car is running flawlessly, and i dont want to give them the 'excuse' that the car has been remapped.
