Anybody come across these little "Resistors" that bridge the IAT (Air Temperature Sensors) and fool the ECU into believing that the intake air temperature is colder than it actually is (shift to the right) and changing the air/fuel mix accordingly. that right!
They are claimed to improve throttle response and acceleration and add upto +20BHP.
And they are pretty cheap - at about 10 quid. If its true for that amount its got to be worth a try - I wouldnt have thort that it could do any damage .

Actually where is the IAT on a 2.9 V6 anyway?

They are in the airflow meters (one each). If you remove the hoses between the throttle body and the meters, then you will see them. They sit inside a small black plastic arrangement. Probably worth a clean with carb cleaner spray if your in there. I would assume that any bridgeing would be done at the ECU end.

Another way, and one that Paceracing used, is to actually give the car cooler air, by either routing cold air from the front of the car to the filters, as he did, or by moving the filters ahead of the radiator.

Sounds a bit timid but don't think I would want to tamper with the ECU unless I knew exactly what I was doing.Would assume you are permanently enriching the mixture would could ultimately lead to washing oil from the cylinder bore in extreme cases.

There have been a number of methods mentioned the last few days for increasing fuelling (altering springs, air temp, boost valves, chips etc). What I will say is that each on it's own will probably do something, try to do them all and the effects would be undesirable. the only two I would recommend are the boost valve or the remapping (see Podie's thread), with emphasis on the 'OR'.

definately sticking to the booster valve for now, then maybe a re-map earlier next year: Subject to your experience at Austec....hope it goes and goes and goes well

Cheers chap! Austec could be VERY busy if it goes right...
