Check for rust. Body parts are on the dear side, front wings are 500+vat from BMW. Mechanicals are straight forward 5-series.

Pedigree sounds good.....

If its a late Highline model (88/89) and is as good as it sounds £2k is a steal,if its earlier still a decent buy, but as said check the body well for rust or it could turn into a money pit

A good Highline with shadowline is a nice thing, especially if it in a nice colour like Nogaro.

A 1 owner late one with proper history, and good wings is worth 5k up imo. They have a good following, and nice ones will always find a home.

it was a 1986 with full leather and 70k miles, i'm glad we went to look at it as it really is a nice looking car but for me the idea of changing is to get something NEWER. but for the money i just had to have a look at it (it was actualy cheaper than i thought)... but my head wont let me past the age of the car!!! so the E39 540i sport is still top of the list along with the Jaguar XJR straight six supercharged

these are the pics i took of the CSI

Thats a nice looking car and 70K miles is very low. My '98 E36 only has 70K miles.

Is it just me, or is it down at the back on the n/s? Mine was like that after breaking a spring (a bh of a job getting at the top bolts...).

Check the inner wings for rust as they're more than expensive, they're like hens teeth and the car might be worth very little if they've been botched, come the next MOT.

I really would recommend you to get someone from the BMW Car Club who knows lots about 6's to have a look if you're seriously intent on it. I can put you in touch with someone from Lincs/Yorks region if you do.

Personally, I wouldn't touch one, but they do look absolutely beautiful.

My view on the E24 put perfectly. Shame, as I'd love one, but they are an old car now and anything but the very best will end up being an expensive running restoration project
