I had a 110 as my second car. Not too shabby on the performance front especially for an 18 year old (well it wasn't for me when I was 19!) and handles pretty well. Insureance, from what I can remember, was a little steep though and servicing was't the cheapest. Chopped it in for a Cupra about 3 years ago and haven't looked back.
There excelent cars, very underated. I would look for a late 2004ish TDI 130 SE if you can find one. These can be identified by slightly differnt wheels to the other TDI SE models, and you get the 6-speed box. Can't remember the insurnace group of the top of my head but if you have got a years NCB, live in an alrite post code and can put someone else on the policy shoudlnt be crazy expensive.

Would have loved the later 130 model, but they are more expensive to buy, and more on the insurance!
