Stainless steel / Carbon dash kits??
Discussion
Where is the best place to get them from?? Ive had a search on here but to no avail.
I really like the look of the Leven stainless dash kits but they don't appear to be selling them any more. Is this correct?
Or does anybody know another place to get a stainless or carbon fibre dash kit from?
Thanks in advance

You could try cleaning up your existing panels & covering in carbon fibre weave from StewartsF1.comI really like the look of the Leven stainless dash kits but they don't appear to be selling them any more. Is this correct?

Word of caution though - I did mine back in June & it is showing signs of lifting in a couple of places. Could be I wasn't thorough enough in preparation of course. Do a search & you'll find plenty of pics from others who have done this job.

Cheers for all the replies. I think im going to invest in a sheet of carbon fibre and cover the old one myself
Hi Lewis, Still got my steel backing plate for the main dash if you want to practice! Just pop round and grab it out of the lower cupboard outside my front door.Mine were all glued on so it was'nt too bad. Regarding the shapes though, with the radio panel i drew around the metal onto the back of the weave, and then cut it out, but this took a lot of time and wasnt perfect. I found the best way was to stick the whole sheet down, and then go around it with a new stanley blade, using the edges of the metal as the guide. This left a perfect edge and did well on all of the circles too!
ETA
If you are having truble concealing the screws, can you not get a countersink and widen the holes up a bit so the screws are flush?

exactly the same method i used. i did countersink the holes but am now (or will be when I'm fit to get back in the garage) fiddling with the switch brackets to get the buttons to work smoothly and not foul the dash holes...ETA

Before i took it apart the light buttons used to do this. Luckily this time when putting them back on they did'nt take much time to line up. I have to get a new 'HOT' LED though as the old one had snapped in the dash and had never worked. Thankfully i think ive found the one i need in Maplins so i will give that a go.
