what to buy??? e39 530 i or e39 530 d

looking to get a e39 sport,but unsure on what model to go for,530d more economical, more torque, potential for a remap, 530 petrol more power less torque,

any info/opinions appriciated cheers in advance

Old(ish) model now, most diesels have miles on them and are coming up to the point where expensive things start to go wrong. ie turbos & injectors
Assuming repairs come out of your pocket I'd take the petrol as its less likely to go wrong and not cost a comparitive fortune when it does.
If fuel cost is important, big miles required to recover the extra a diesel costs to buy and fuel in the first place.
