Long journey preparation

Hi folks,

Looking for a bit of advice. I've got a good 1,000+ miles of driving at Christmas to do - heading from Weymouth to Edinburgh and then back again January.

Now this will be the first time that I will be doing a large drive like this in a while. I had the TT serviced in February this year and I was wondering if there is any preparation that is should do in order to make the journey as painless as possible?!?

1000 miles is easy, I used to do it most weekends. Midlands-Essex-Fife on a friday and the reverse on a sunday night. In an Audi you should do it very easily.

Just do the usual checks; fluid levels, pressures, wipers, lights etc.
