Are there any buyers/information web resources for these cars that anyone can recommend?

Do they make good drivers cars or are they more cruiser oriented?

8er.org & e31.org is a good place to start

IMHO they are a superb car but are still at nearly 2tonnes this GT will never keep up with something nimble like a elise on the twists but is still an involved drive and with a few subtle mods can be totally transformed.

I understand that the 8 Series can be surprisingly agile with the right work done on the suspension. I love these cars though I'll leave it to one of the resident 8 experts to fill you in on the technical merits and ownership experience of these cars.

There is also the M Power version of course, the CSi

5.6L V12 with manual box, up-rated brakes and suspension, rear wheel steer, LSD etc., etc.

It's a bit of an animal !

I'm just around the corner when you want to upgrade, it's getting precious little use at the moment
