Hi,

Looking for some help/information from anyone in the Surrey area, who might be able to point me in the direction of a good supplier who could sort me out with some new alloys for a '99 Golf GTi.

Had a search of the threads and couldn't find anything particularly relevant... so would welcome any local info.

I'm in the Cobham/Weybridge area, so anything close to there would be great.

Not necessary looking for anything too out of the ordinary - even some decent VW replacements would be good, but the existing set are (way?) past their best, so need to replace the whole set I think.

Thank in advance for any pointers.

Phil

Hi,

There are plenty of sets of alloys for mk4 golfs on ebay, you should have a huge selection of original factory alloys and aftermarket ones. Also remember that nearly any 5x100 stud seat/audi/skoda/vw will fit.

It also worth considering refurbishing your existing alloys as it can be done for £30-50 per wheel if they are in a standard silver finish but you maybe able to have them painted another colour should you wish.

Thanks - did consider the eBay approach, but don't want to carry the risk (possible refurb'd alloys, dodgy tyres etc).

Would rather get a new set with tyres from a reliable dealer type vendor.

Thanks for the input though.

Phil.

p.s. The current set aren't worth refurb'ing.

Phil, brand new official wheels will cost you circa 1k plus tyres for 16 inch wheels, are you sure you want them that much ?

Just looked at your profile and saw that your in Wiltshire, a VW breakers that I used to use for bits for my Mk2 16v called Volksmania had 2 sets of TT Comps a few months ago, havent been there since, but they may still have them?

They are on the A46 just past Castle Combe, near Old Sodbury 01454 329990.

Dont know how close that is to you, but maybe worth a call?
