Hi

Just wondering if it's ok (rules and safety-wise) to use an open face helmet + goggles in the Caterham Academy

Thanks

no

Open face only acceptable in closed saloons although to be honest you'd be mad not to get the best full face helmet you can afford.

a stone came up from somewhere when i was passing the pits at knockhill, it hit my visor with some serious punch. I bet it would have taken a few teeth out, or given me a weapon of a black eye, or is it coloured eye these days, if the helmet had have been open.

How much do you value your eyes' and face?

If the answere is even remotely yes, you need a full face.

Thanks again for the replies. I asked because a number if drivers in open wheel cars (eg historic formula ford and historic formula junior) use open face helmets with goggles and it always seemed unsafe to me, so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being ovezealous. Full face it is then
