Hello all.

I sold my Corrado track car (on here somewhere) as I joined the RAF this year and it would have been painful to trek up and down the motorway in.

I've always loved Peugeot's and have had 2 205 Gti's (one sorrento green and one graphite grey).

My requirements were, £2500 budget, fancied something newish looking after having no frills for so long and needed to be reasonably quick without costing much as I was taking a huge pay drop.

Found this in Sheffield and it was spotless when I went to see it. Came with the plate and all the modifications so it saved a bit of money.

The wheels aren't my prefferred choice (Gunmetal Speedline turini's) but
look ok I think.

For those that don't know of the GT. It was the model of 206Gti homologated to allow the 206 to join the WRC.

206 Grand Tourisme - number 1375

69k with FPSH
Leather and alcantara interior
17" Kahn RSV wheels with yokohama parada spec2's
Bilstein B6 dampers and Eibach pro kit springs
Hayward and Scott stainless exhaust
K&N Gen2 induction kit
BDR performance remap
Brembo discs and mintex 1144 pads
Alpine IDA X001 HU, Alpine components, Pheonix gold amp

Plans are:
Replace the front seats with Recaro fixed buckets but retrim them with the same fabric as the original seats
Change the wheels to 16" turini's
Either a supercharger conversion or TB's

and I couldn't resist one of the old corrado smile

Does that have the 137hp engine or the 180?

I always thought they were known as 206RC's?

They are the 137's so warm as opposed to hot. Mine might be a touch quicker due to the mods but it's not a 180. Cars with my mods tend to be around 150 ish bhp.

The GTi was called the RC in France but not over here.

That's right. I never got round to colour coding the centres of the wheels the same as the rocker cover and miss the car terribly.

Shame I couldn't afford to keep the two of them.

The 180 was known as the RC but the 137 was known as the S16 or 16S IIRC.

IMO it's a shame they didn't give these cars the engine they deserved, as a limited edition with the WRC style bumpers it should have at least had the 180 engine in it frown

yeah cheers for that adz.. lol

It was born out of necessity really. I do have a strange passion for peugeots and the 206 GTi isn't a bad car once it's had decent suspension put on.

The corrado was a beast but it was truely hateful doing long distances in it.

Right about the power though. It does need a fair bit more and that's what I intend to give it. The longman conversion was pretty damn good and gave a shade under 200bhp which once it's got an LSD in it would make it pretty formidable I think.

Then I'll have an unusual ltd ed with plenty of go and as I'd do it all myself apart from the mapping, won't cost much.

There is a plan biggrin

If Paul is interested the 206 is still going strong. It now has a cage and a few other bits and pieces...it’s having fun as track car amongst other daft things.
It’s as tough as old boots that car...it has some stories to tell.

NO fkING WAY!

That’s amazing. I’d love to see some current pics. Keep the thread alive now mate. The baton has been handed on.

Does it still have its Hayward and Scott exhaust? To be fair that car was in such good condition when I owned it. Did all my commutes during RAF basic training in it.

I collect 206 GT’s as some kind of masochistic thing.... I found it in Kent just before Christmas. It was half stripped for a track but had been left for a few years. The guy selling it had plans... he is a good chap and has stayed in touch...the car has a name. I think it has some form around Kent too.
I initially wanted it for scrap...some bits are hard to get now. However I took my son with me to collect her with a trailer... 300 mile round trip. Set of jump leads and it fired straight into life after years sat outside. Drove on the trailer no problem.
I already have a track GT that I have been using with my son...on the journey home he talked me into the idea of us having one each....
We booked a track day for February and the race was on to get a half cage in her and new sills inner and outer both sides along with cam belts and water pump etc.
It performed faultlessly as you can imagine and spent the day giving 110%. My son is a classic BMW owner and fan but this little car gets under your skin. I don’t really want to know what adventures he is having with it...but a couple of Clio’s are being prepared as we speak to take it on.
I will try and upload a picture...it’s a bit scruffy but well loved.

Thanks for that. Really appreciate the update. Would love to see some more detailed pics if you have time.

Glad it’s doing well. It was faultless when I had it.
