E38 start up issue.

Hello, on three occasions over the last month the car (740il) has not started as quickly as normal. As in I turn it on, you hear the starter motor and usually the engine kicks in within 1-2 seconds but on these three occasions it takes maybe 3 or 4 seconds and I get a single beep. No error message or such the like comes up on the dash. The car starts and runs fine afterwards but I want to work out if its a problem on its way. I changed the spark plugs recently but the first two occasions were prior to this so its not them. Any ideas.

Can you get a voltage reading off the battery? Maybe the recent cold weather has just taken the edge off it.
